Aim and objectives

The HES-19 UIE-PhD intensive course, 2° Summer school on HES and EPM, has the main aim to establish a scientific cooperation among young PhD students and researchers from different Institutions operating in the field of Electroheat, Electromagnetic Processing of Material and Applications of Electromagnetism. It is tradition to organize such a school just before a conference dealing with proper topics like HES, MMP, MEP and the UIE conference.

The course has a duration of 5 days during which specific topics in the form of full immersion lectures will be developed with the help of some laboratory tutorials. The lectures will be organized in a common part, with lectures about general topics and a specific part, where lectures will be focused on a special topic. This year three main specific subjects have been chosen: plasma technologies, radiofrequency application and domestic application of induction heating. All the three topic will include a specific laboratory. The students laboratory activities will be focused on the specific topic chosen by the student between the ones proposed. At the end of the course, a presentation about a short project or a summary of laboratory activities will be presented by the three groups of students.
